The little bramble

There once was a little bramble. It stuck out with needles. It was so sad and alone, everyone who came near it got pricked. It loved everyone but they kept getting pricked. So eventually, everyone stayed away.

The bramble cried and cried because it loved everyone and was so alone.

But one day a gardener came along and spoke to the bramble “would you like me to shear those thorns?” “Yes, please!” the bramble sobbed.

So the gardener took the thorns away, getting a couple pricks himself. But instead of fleeing, he just did his work. When it was done he said “you’re very welcome.” And the bramble said “thank you.”

Slowly, everyone came back to the bramble. It was happy.
