Harry Potter is a magical, and imaginative series filled with quirky, unforgettable characters that incited fans to launch their very own enchanted websites.

Many fans felt as though they grew up with the characters with each book or movie release.The coming of age story about good triumphing over evil is one that forever left an imprint on fans’ hearts. Potter nerds everywhere never wanted the story to end. These hardcore Potter fans delved deep into their imaginations, and continued the magical story in their own words to carry on the tale in more depth.

This particular Potter site claims to be number one among hundreds of others. Referencing non-magic folk by using the slang term “muggle” from the famous books, this site includes interactive games, blogs, fan-fiction and quizzes for those of use who didn’t graduate from Hogwarts.

One particular fun aspect of this site is the sorting hat quiz, where a true fan can be sorted into a house after answering a few questions about their personalities. The fans can also participate in other quizzes like “what’s your Patronus?”

Mugglenet’s accessibility and layout is a little busy compared to other sites in the genre, but the site’s social media outlets are easily found on the page, which allows the sharing of content quite to be quite easy. They use white space, and they stick with a blue and white color theme rather than the traditional golds and reds of Harry Potter.

This site has everything a true fan would want from the latest news, information on Potter Parks to an entire craft section devoted to Harry Potter themed foods, quilts and more.

With over 85,000 published stories, the main purpose of this site is to allow Harry Potter fans to both publish and read fanfiction online.

The site seems to be targeted specifically toward die-hard Harry Potter fans who have a particular hobby in writing fictional stories in the Harry Potter world of magic. There are thousands of fan-fiction published on this site, so the designer organized the stories into categories.

If a fan is in the mood to read about a romantic affair between Malfoy and Hermione, all they have to do is search for it.

The site isn’t glamorous, but they attempt to use the Harry Potter theme in regards to color and the well-known lightning bolt scar.

After reviewing each Potter website, Mugglenet appears to hold true to its word for being the number one fan site, The Leaky Cauldron wins second place for best site and Harry Potter Fan Fiction sits in third.

Mugglenet and The Leaky Cauldron are both interactive sites with games, chat rooms, quizzes and other fun things for visitors to participate in. Fans want to interact with other fans who share their Potter obsession, and both sites give them just that.

However, Mugglenet appears to be more up to date on information, and rather than only focusing on Harry Potter, they are following along with Fantastic Beasts, another story written by Rowling that takes place in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter; true fans want to hear more about Fantastic Beasts as much as Harry Potter. They regularly offer new content, which is why it is number one, whereas The Leaky Cauldron, though creative, does not update their content as often.

The Leaky Cauldron has a more interesting design mechanisms that are both welcoming and true to Harry Potter in regards to color and image. Mugglenet offers easy to access content and design, with many categories and tabs for users to easily find what they are looking for. Leaky Cauldron isn’t as professionally appealing.

Lastly, Harry Potter Fan Fiction is a fun site to visit if you are in the mood to read lengthy posts. It primarily serves the purpose for fans to post, and read stories. It isn’t interactive, which is why it is ranked third in this particular list. If the site featured more quizzes, and interactive chats and games, it would definitely gather more visitors. It would also benefit from using more tabs, and completely changing the layout to something more accessible and appealing to the eye.
